Serve provides real recognition for your volunteers
No eligibility requirements to nonprofits - all are welcome
The Reward is the availability of
large discounts (30% - 50%)
for quality supermarket food packages that are made available to the
public once a month on a Saturday morning at 35 Serve NH chapter sites.
The catch is that the customer
MUST VOLUNTEER AT LEAST 2 HOURS A MONTH
TO QUALIFY for the discounted food. The volunteers choose what they
want to do for service hours. It means doing "anything under the sun" as
a volunteer. The customer presents a voucher attesting to volunteer hours
performed at time of food pick-up, accepts the food package(s) and reorders
for the next month if they choose. There is no limit on how many packages
they may order.
Don't
change a thing! Your volunteers are already pre-qualifiedfor the discounts
& vouchers. Of course, your staff may qualify themselves
anytime they generate a minimum of 2 volunteer hours a month. The program
is for everyone and is income neutral.
Depending on the food package ordered, the cost may run from $11 to $19.
The $19 package is a Family Meal Package. This contains 4 meals for 4 people,
which are
16 servings at $1.12 each.
The food consists of top name brands, of better quality than you can
get even in big name chain groceries, because of Serve’s meticulous
quality controls. This means a good deal on great food. The
packages come with meats such as beef, chicken or pork, various vegetables,
potatoes, fruits, stuffing, cookies and mixes, etc. They even provide new
& standard recipes to try. The food is delivered from their Manchester
distribution center directly to 35 Serve pickup locations in New Hampshire
very early on the monthly Saturday morning scheduled as Customer Pickup
Day. Food arrives fresh and safe.
Serve
New England is a nonprofit (est. 1991) based in Avon, MA. www.servenewengland.org.
We are proud that all Serve chapters are staffed and operated exclusively by volunteers.
This is not surplus food. In fact, "I order it every month",
says Bruce A. Montville EE, President of LifeWise Community Projects,
the agency that has taken on the promotion and expansion of this program
in New Hampshire. Collectively, the 350 Serve chapters throughout New England
generate 70,000 to 100,000 volunteer hours per month.
Reward your volunteers with "appreciation" food packages or become a Serve Chapter.
